About the Business
Penang, the pearl of the orient, renowned for its rich variety of cuisines emerging through generations of Malay, Peranakan Baba-Nyonya and Indian cultures. From spicy aromatic Penang Char Kway Teow noodles, fragrant Nyonya curries cooked in coconut milk to satay barbecued over charcoal and sambal BBQ seafood.
Rarer delicacies such as Otak-Otak, a blend of fish, galangal, coconut milk and herbs wrapped in banana leaf, and Asam Laksa, a spicy seafood noodle soup, are all made with Nyonya recipes from my family back in Penang. All our dishes are made with fresh ingredients and spices. Ready-made pastes or MSG are never used.
